Chess Club Gene Eberhardt All grade levels. Meets on Thursday from 3:15-4:15 in Mr. Eberhardt’s room #306 starting January 29, 2026.Students can be picked up in front of the school or on blacktop around back. Any skill level can attend. If you are new to chess, we teach you. If you have medium ability, we pair you with someone similar. If you are advanced, we talk about strategies and create an account on chess.com so you can get a rating.

Golf Squad is offered during your school’s Fall/Spring Semesters. It is a six to twelve week golf club that meets once a week for an hour with a golf industry professional. All participating families receive weekly emails detailing what students will be doing and learning that week in class.

You Be the Chemist Gene Eberhardt

Qualifying Exam is Wednesday, October 22, during advisory in the media center at 8:15 am. All 7th and 8th graders are invited. Students who make the team will be notified that same week Club meets from 3:15-4:15 in Mr. Eberhardt’s room #306 starting the week of November 4. Day of the week TBA.Students can be picked up in front of the school or on blacktop around back.

Students must take a chemistry pre-test during advisory time. The students with the top 8 scores on the qualifying exam are invited to the club.In 2024-25, fifteen students took the pre-test.

The Met: HD Live in Schools Opera Club Jonathan Welch All grades on select dates (announced ahead of time) after school from 3:30pm-5:00pm in the Chorus Room (RM 616). This club will allow students to immerse themselves in the grandeur of Opera through a partnership that the Fort Mill School District has with The Metropolitan Opera in New York City, NY. Students will come together on select dates (announced ahead of time) after school from 3:30pm-5:00pm to be prepped by a team of interdisciplinary teachers for the upcoming production then attend a LIVE stream of the work in a local movie cinema (announced ahead of time).
Board Game Club Gene Eberhardt All grade levels. Meets on Thursday from 3:15-4:15 in Mr. Eberhardt’s room #306 starting January 29, 2026.Students can be picked up in front of the school or on blacktop around back. Bring a game from home or get one out of the game bin. We have mancala, playing cards, dominoes, stratego, backgammon, snap circuits, yahtzee, chess, sorry, exploding kittens, etc.
Badminton Club Harms Two days per week for 6 weeks in the spring, 3:15-4:15  (after basketball - coincides with badminton unit in PE) There will be an open sign-up, but only 10 students from each grade can participate. (Either first 10 or random selection)
Dawg TV Kiggans, Shriver, Cockerham All grades by application Each grade level will film a weekly TV news show before school one day per week.

27 students will split into 3 randomized teams weekly and play 2 games in a round robin style.
